Ego Trippin

I was born in Sudan
I walked along the continent of Africa
I designed the way we teach our young children
I am outspoken
I sat in the Underground Railroad with Harriet Tubman drinking hot cocoa
When I get hot I chill right next to the African beat
My oldest daughter is Tehuana
The tears from my birth pain created the Nile River
I am the best
I gazed upon the ankh and it turned to gold
For my son’s third birthday I gave him a house full of books and a pair of shoes
In return he gave me his diploma and his love
My other son built the Lincoln Memorial Stadium all by himself and all I could say was “that’s my baby”
I am the baddest
I planted young scholars in my backyard
My bowels deliver the finest and richest gold and diamonds of them all
My fingernail filings bring peace, love, and harmony to all
On my trip from north to south I caught a cold and blew my nose and sprinkled love around
I’m so hip I put the hip in Hip-HopI’m so perfect, divine, ethereal, and surreal that young kids and their mothers inspire to be me
I have a destiny

You should send this poem to Nikki Giovanni. I think she would be proud.

I still want to record this and match it up with your PowerPoint slides.

Keep up the good work.

Mr. Songhai
